On Monday, December 12, two incumbent candidates and one newcomer to the Brea Olinda Unified School District took their oaths of office to serve a new four year term on the Board of Education. The newly elected member, Paul Ruiz, was sworn in for the first time while incumbents, Gail Lyons and Kevin Hobby, were sworn in for another term. All members were sworn in by Superintendent Dr. Brad Mason.
At the reorganizational meeting, Nicole Colon was named President, Carrie Flanders was named Vice President, and Kevin Hobby was named Clerk.
Additionally, on Wednesday, December 14, the Board held interviews to fill the school board seat vacancy due to the resignation of Joe Rollino. Rod Todd was appointed to serve the remainder of Rollino’s term which expires on November 30, 2018. Holli Kittleson, Joseph Covey, Jonathan Golub, and Jason Kraft were also considered for the appointment. Mr. Todd will be sworn in at the January 9, 2017 Board Meeting. Please click HERE
