Dr. Helene Cunningham receives 2014 Outstanding Contributions to Education award!

The Orange County Board of Education and County Superintendent of Schools, Al Mijares, Ph.D., presented Outstanding Contributions to Education (OCTE) awards at the monthly board meeting on February 12, 2014. The OCTE program honors administrators, teachers, clerical staff, specialists, crossing guards, nurses, bus drivers, Parent Teacher Associations (PTA), volunteers, business leaders, and community organizations that have made significant contributions to education. Dave Willert named 2014 Top 25 Teachers of Orange County!

In the February 2014 issue of Parenting OC magazine, the editors picked their first annual Top 25 Teachers of Orange County.  Our very own Dave Willert of Brea Olinda High School is mentioned on page 44.  Congratulations Dave!  Click HERE to read the article.

Fanning and Mariposa Named 2012 California Distinguished Schools

The District was notified on Thursday, March 29, by State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tom Torlakson, that Fanning and  Mariposa Elementary School were named 2012 California Distinguished Schools.  The program honors and identifies those schools that have demonstrated educational excellence for all students and progress in narrowing the achievement gap.  To be invited to apply for Distinguished School honors, schools must meet a variety of eligibility criteria including designated federal and state accountability measures.  Congratulations!
