Local Control & Accountability Plan (LCAP)

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP). The Brea Olinda Unified School District firmly believes in the importance of seeking stakeholder input prior to writing the plan. 

The LCAP is an important part of California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), established in 2014. The LCAP describes how school districts intend to meet annual goals for all students, with specific activities to address state and local priorities.

The process to develop and finalize the LCAP takes about 10 months, beginning in January each year. The LCAP is designed to be a rolling three-year plan.  

There are many ways for stakeholders to engage in the LCAP process, as you will see below. The process below has been developed to ensure multiple opportunities for parents, staff, students, and community members to provide feedback on the plan. After receiving input from the community, it is up to the Board of Education to make the final decision on what our District priorities will be.

Facilitate input from representative stakeholder groups
 

At a regularly scheduled meeting for each group, district staff will facilitate a discussion of priority areas for each group. These meetings are not open to the public. Time will also be provided for group members to individually complete the online survey.
